Parterre Paradise
Inspired by the designs of historic French Baroque Gardens, our collection of four parterre tapestry kits are a delight to stitch for the new and experienced stitcher alike. A showcase for gardening skills, parterre gardens were first developed by garden designer Claude Mollet in around 1595 at Royal Gardens in France.

The concept was a development of earlier knot gardens, which further evolved into more intricate 'parterre de broderie' which means 'parterre of embroidery' which were designed to be reminiscent of embroidery of the period and found in English Gardens from the early 17th Century.

Designed as views of elaborate formal gardens from the air, we love the form and symmetry of this set of tapestry kit designs, particularly when paired together either as framed pieces on a wall or as cushions. Naomi has paired hers with a fluffy green trim to make a set of scrumptious cushion covers. All the designs are created by Naomi herself and then handstitched by her own hands or by one of the team for quality control prior to signing off on a design.
Our tapestry kits are printed and assembled in the UK by hand by our fabulous team using Appletons Wool, which is made specifically for use on canvas.
